US Navy Seal Lieutenant Pete Scobell is a former U.S. Navy SEAL Lieutenant whose 17-year military career included six combat deployments and service across SEAL Team EIGHT, SEAL Team ONE, SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team ONE, and Naval Special Warfare Development Group. He is widely recognized as a real-life member of the SEAL team involved in the 2009 rescue of Captain Richard Phillips from Somali pirates, an operation later depicted in the lm Captain Phillips. Before his military service, Scobell was a standout athlete, competing as a ski racer in New York and becoming the Pennsylvania State Champion in the pole vault. After transitioning to civilian life, Scobell reignited old passions, recording country-Americana music, releasing the 2015 album Wild with the Pete Scobell Band, acting in lms such as Plane (2023), and returning to professional skiing after a 17-year break. A husband, father of three, and dedicated mentor, Scobell now consults on security, writes, and speaks on resilience, mental health, and the power of second chances – continuing a life de ned by service, grit, and reinvention.
